This is the student most secondary student instructors want—the kind of student their programs are designed to serve. But according to my auto tech instructor friends, such a student is the exception. Most high school students—be they on a career and technical or a college-bound path—have yet to make hard-and-fast career choices. And my own experience as a tuition-paying parent tells me that even postsecondary students can languish in career indecision.
